Our Boats: Ada & Bruna

Ada Sail boat

The Story Behind Ada

Every dream begins with a spark — and for Captain Ernesto, that spark was the sea. After years of searching for the perfect sailboat, he found his destiny in a forgotten vessel at the Opequimar marina in Puerto Vallarta. Though time had left its mark, he saw beauty where others saw decay — a vision of what could be.

During the restoration, Ernesto cared for his mother, Ada — the woman who had always believed in him. When she passed, he renamed the sailboat Ada in her honor, turning a simple dream into a tribute of love, perseverance, and faith.

Today, Ada sails the waters of Banderas Bay as a living legacy — inviting every guest to feel the same passion, freedom, and connection that inspired its creation. Step aboard and become part of her story.

Book Bruna Tour

It all began with a dream,
a sailboat, and a father’s
love for the ocean.

AdaSailing was founded in 2007 by Captain Ernesto Alfano, a dreamer born in Buenos Aires who spent years exploring the world by land and sea. After living in Mexico City for some time, Ernesto arrived in Puerto Vallarta in 2004 with his daughter Andrea — carrying with him the vision of creating something truly special on the Pacific coast.

Together, they launched a family business that would offer more than just sailing tours — they offered connection: to nature, to loved ones, and to unforgettable moments at sea. In 2017, Ernesto passed away in Puerto Vallarta after a brave battle with cancer.

His daughter Andrea, who had been by his side every step of the way, continues to lead AdaSailing with the same passion, care, and love for the ocean that her father instilled in every journey.
